For Dubai mainland licences — yes. The trade licence cannot be renewed without a valid Ejari. Free zone companies operate under different leasing systems specific to the zone authority.
Flexi-desk is shared workspace (typically 5–20 hours/month) suitable for licences requiring minimal physical presence. Dedicated office is exclusively yours — required for higher visa quotas and activities requiring inspections.
Some free zones allow “virtual office” packages bundled with the licence. Mainland licences require either a flexi-desk equivalent (smart-desk) or full office — pure virtual is not compliant.
